Physiotherapy Services

Who can benefit from physiotherapy?

Physiotherapists help people by improving movement, relieving pain and ensuring an injury has the best conditions in which to heal. And so patients of all ages, sporting abilities (or inabilities) and physical abilities can benefit from treatment.

How does a physio decide how to treat me?

The first time you come to see us will be your ‘initial assessment’. This will consist of you telling us what’s been going on, us asking you a few questions and then assessing your injury or symptoms. Once we’ve found out what is wrong, we’ll decide together on a goal and design a treatment programme around that goal.

How many treatments will I need?

Every individual and every condition is different, so we can’t say until after your initial assessment. But immediately after the assessment, we’ll be able to give you an idea of the number of treatments required to relieve your condition. Find out how long physiotherapy takes.

What conditions do you treat?

We treat a wide range of conditions including:
Sports injuries
Balance problems
Postural problems
Age related rehabilitation
Post surgery rehabilitation
Pain management
Long covid

Booking & Attending Appointments

How long will I wait for my appointment?

Our waiting lists are much shorter than the NHS! If we can’t fit you in this week, it will certainly be the following week. Find an available appointment here.

At what times are appointments available?

We know life can be busy, so we offer daytime, evening and Saturday morning appointments. Visit our branch pages for The Nest and Princess Street to view their opening times.

What should I wear to my appointment?

Comfortable, loose fitting clothes. If you have a lower limb problem please wear or bring shorts. If it’s an upper body problem, a vest or strapped top is best. And for a running injury, please bring your running trainers. Learn more about what to wear to a physio appointment.

Should I bring any medical notes, X-rays or scans that I have?

Yes please, these can often help us with your diagnosis and treatment.

Will my physiotherapist be chartered?

Yes, all of our physios are members of the Chartered Society of Physiotherapists and are Regulated by the Health Professions Council. You can look up any Physiotherapist’s registration on the HCPC website.

Where can I park for the Princes Street Clinic?

There is limited on-road pay and display parking but we recommend either St Andrews Car Park or The Monastery Court Car Park, which are both short walks from the clinic. Learn more about our Princes Street physio clinic.
